Rakesh Kumar Sharma is Assistant Director of Agriculture, Bilaspur (C.G.). He has also workd as Assistant Seed Certification Officer in CGSSCA, Raipur (C.G.). Senior Surveillance Inspector and SRF in IGKV, Raipur. He has received his M.Sc. (Ag.) degree in 2008 in the field of Agronomy from IGKV, Raipur. He has published 6 books namely “Guide for Agricultural Entrance Examinations”, Agriculture at a Glance (in Hindi and English),”Question Bank for Agricultural Competitons”, “Basics of Agriculture for Engineers “and “ Agricultural Extension Explorer”, many research papers and technical articles. He has vast experience of teaching of under- graduate programme and research and extension activities.
Sandeep Kumar Bhoi is Senior Research Fellow in NPOF Project, Dept. of Agronomy, IGKV, Raipur. He has also worked as Manager, Sales and Merchandise - Food Business under Future Group and Reliance. He received his B.Sc (Ag.) and M.Sc (Ag.) degree in the field of Agronomy from Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur (C.G.) and securing first position in post graduation. He has qualified National Eligibility Test (ASRB, ICAR).
Dr. N. Pandey is Principal Scientist in the Department of Agronomy, Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Raipur. He received his B.Sc. (Ag.) and M.Sc. (Ag.) degree from Jawahar Lal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur & Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He is well known for his work on water and nutrient management and cropping system. He has published and presented more than 150 research papers in journals of repute and many technical bulletins for providing technologies to the farmers. He has vast experience of teaching of Under-graduate, Post-graduate and Ph.D. programme, and research and extension activities. He has published the book “Guide for Agricultural Entrance Examinations” as co-author.
Shashank Shinde is Rural Agriculture Extension Officer at Department of Agriculture, Bilaspur (C.G.). He has also worked as Assistant Project Officer (A.P.O.) at Zila Panchayat (DRDA), Dantewada, Chhattisgarh under Young Professional Program- CAPART, Ministry of Rural Development, Govt. of India. He received his B.Sc (Ag.) in 2005 and M.Sc (Ag.) degree in 2007 in the field of Entomology from IGKV, Raipur (C.G.).
Dr. Vinay K. Pandey is Professor and Incharge Dean of BRSM College of Agril. Engineering & Technology, Mungeli, IGKV, Raipur. He is M.E. and Ph.D. in Agricultural Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. He has published and presented more than 56 research papers in various International & National journals, Conference proceedings etc. He has an experience of about 22 years in teaching, research and extension activity in the field of his specialization.

During our preparation, we found that Agriculture created enormous job opportunities in teaching, research, extension, industrial and financial institutions, which are based on all those examinations conduced by Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi, various state agricultural universities, state boards and banking institutions. All these examinations are mostly based on objective type questions and students always look for study materials that is ready to use and easy to grasp. But, there are only few books available in the market for agricultural competitive examinations.
The present book “Agriculture at a Glance” has been prepared in most simple, clear and in appropriate manner so that easy to grasp and remember, based on syllabus of most of agricultural competitive examinations with basic and current knowledge of various fields of agriculture.
